Welcome to the Broadway Recreation Center in Mesa, Arizona!

The Broadway Recreation Center was built in 1961 as the former Mesa High School gymnasium until the school burned down in October of 1967.  The City of Mesa owns the building, but the BRC is operated by Arizona Disabled Sports.  Many different groups have turned the Broadway Recreation Center into their favorite facility.

The BRC is the proud home of the Gene Lewis Boxing Club.  The Boxing Club was originally owned and operated by Gene Lewis himself, but after his passing in March of 2006, Joshua Benjamin became the Program Director.  Every year, the BRC hosts the Gene Lewis Boxing Tournament that people from all over come to see.

Heritage Academy is another group that has claimed the Center as their home.  The building is used as their basketball home court.  Practices and games are held here throughout Heritage's season.

Arizona Rollergirls use the Broadway Recreation Center as a place for their monthly roller derby bouts.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Roller derby groups make up a majority of the rentals here.

Arizona Disabled Sports has their home office in this building and uses this facility as the home court for their many programs for both the Arizona Heat teams and the Team Mesa Bulldogs.

Since 1961, these walls have seen so many amazing people and historical moments. There is no doubt that it will continue to see incredible athletes and supportive families and fans come through those doors.

The Center has even doubled as a film set! Check out these Infiniti spots which aired during the 2017 Final Four.
